Calvin Robbins, MD is a fellowship-trained glaucoma surgeon and a member of the American Glaucoma Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Robbins will be joining Maine Eye in July 2026.

Dr. Robbins believes that personalized glaucoma care leads to better outcomes. In addition to diagnosis and medical management, he offers laser treatments and minimally invasive glaucoma procedures designed to reduce medication burden and preserve long-term vision. He also performs traditional glaucoma surgery for patients with advanced disease. His interest in complex anterior segment surgery includes dislocated lens management, scleral-fixated lenses, and Pupilloplasty. Dr. Robbins has received academic recognition through peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and editorials.

A native of Waldoboro, Maine, Dr. Robbins graduated from Colby College, where he majored in biochemistry with a minor in physics. He received distinction from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and was nominated to the Pi Sigma Pi honor society. He then attended Tufts University School of Medicine through the Maine Track program, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Robbins completed his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Dr. Robbins is proud to return to Maine with his wife and son. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hockey, spending time with family, and home improvement projects.
