Dr. Hannah Calvelli is a residency-trained optometrist who joined Maine Eye in September of 2021. She specializes in comprehensive and post-operative eye care as well as the treatment and management of ocular pathology and ocular emergencies.
Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Dr. Calvelli has been happy to call Vermont home for the past few years. She obtained her optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts prior to completing her residency in ocular disease and ocular and refractive surgery at Virginia Eye Consultants in Norfolk, Virginia. Her residency provided extensive training in complicated pathology and post-operative eye care, as well as in the treatment and management of ocular emergencies. She was the recipient of the Virginia Academy of Optometry Residency Scholarship and was named the Bernard Blaustein Resident of the Year by the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.
Dr. Calvelli earned her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in anthropology. She was also a collegiate athlete and captain of the women’s soccer team.
Dr. Calvelli is happy to be practicing in what she has always considered to be one of her favorite states. She is a member of both the Maine Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
